This weekend there is another marché beaubeau full of creative, unique and handmade stuff. A few years already, Seb makes worldy global music-mixes (rebel up!) and I make the designs, as you saw in some older posts. For his Nepal mix, I’ve made something special, a handmade cover with some typical Nepalese patterns fabric. It’s all handwork and every piece is unique! Happy with the result. You still can get one of the limited edition tomorrow at the stand of Lexi Disques (Place Royale, Brussels > marchebeaubeau) from 11am to 7pm. If you can’t make it, but still interested, just let me know, I could make an extra one for you.
Summer mix

I haven’t been writing on my blog lately, but I was busy. I’ve made you a summerpicturesmix of my busy times: Lot’s of festivals and worldly dancemusicnights where Seb performed (Recyclart Holidays, Sfinks Mixed, Grand Cirque du Balkan, Amsterdam Roots…), the biggest pack of fries ever!, we had rain, we had wind but also sun, great pleinopenair cinema, a wedding full of lemons on the most beautiful saturday of august, camping, a swim in the northsea, a great cute handmade floating little house… and so much more that I forgot to take pictures of!
Comic book wall

It’s finished since last week. A few meters from my house shines a brand new comic book wall of Yoko Tsuno. I always thought this was a special comic, because for once it was a female main charachter and heroine! I remember we had 2 or 3 of the comics at home. Maybe I should make the collection complete. Still 22 to go.
Out of the bedroom

Somewhere end winter 2010 was my last Bird to be concert, so time to get out of the bedroom now and sing. Coming friday July 1st, I’ll be playing in La Compilothèque, next to the Canal in Brussels. Hope that there won’t be too much noise of the opening night of BrusselBad/BruxellesLesBains… We’ll see… and hear. Very curious about the live set of Lucrecia Dalt aswell.

Last weekend, Seb got the Hohner accordeon of his grandmother from the 1940’s! She still looks in very good condition – the accordeon aswell as the grandmother, hihi – and it sounds great. I’m trying to learn it a little with a very old book that was in the case aswell. Some walzes!
Wall of sleep

Our guestroom has been quite occupied the past year… it shows on or ‘Wall of sleep’, a picturewall of all guests who stayed at our place in the past year. The card ‘Our home is your hotel’ fits quite good (see previous post). And the wall is still unfinished, because 2 days ago we had the band ‘The Soft Moon‘ as visitors and today Seb’s brother is coming for a long weekend. Busy hotel… I guess the season started, haha!
